A high quality mathematics education provides a foundation for understanding the world, the ability to reason mathematically, and appreciation of the beauty and power of mathematics and a sense of enjoyment of curiosity about the subject.

The National Curriculum in England 2014

We aim to ensure that all pupils become fluent in the fundamentals of mathematics, practising their skills to build understanding and to apply their knowledge acccurately to solving problems. Children learn to reason mathematically using appropriate language to support their ideas.

The national curriculum for mathematics reflects the importance of spoken language in pupils' development across the whole curriculum. The quality and variety of language which pupils hear and speak are key factors in developing their mathematical vocabulary and presenting a mathematical justification, arguement or proof. We seek to make Mathematics enjoyable and creative. Children explore and investigate mathematical concepts to gain a deeper understanding.
