Book of the week

This week's book is the picture book 'Wild' by Emily Hughers. It is a beautifully illustrated story of a little girl who is brought up by the animals of the woodland. One day she is caught and the 'real world' attempts to 'civilize' her. In school last week we have been talking about the importance of the British Value of 'Individual Liberty' and this book encapsulates the importance of being true to who you are. It is gorgeously brought to life by captivating illustrations and is a modern classic with echoes of The Jungle Book.
