The book also has facts and information about bats at the back of the book - if you didn't know anything about bats beforehand you certainly will after reading this uplifting and informative book.

The children looked fantastic in their costumes – a huge thank you to everyone who made the effort, especially the amazing homemade outfits, which were very impressive. Throughout the day the children enjoyed a range of activities including: A whole school World Book Day assembly with Mrs Roberts Reading with children from the Junior School Painting book-themed rocks inspired by favourite stories and character. A book hunt and playground reading activities run by our School Council Teachers sharing their favourite books with the class This year is also the National Year of Reading, so it was especially lovely to see the children sharing their favourite books and characters. All children should have brought home a £1 World Book Day token, which can be used to choose one of the free World Book Day books available in bookshops, or used as £1 off any book or audiobook over £2.99. It’s a great excuse for a visit to your local bookshop

CRIS annual Break the Rules Day will be on Friday 13th February. Children are welcome to break none, one, two or all of the rules below.

Raid your money boxes - for each of the rules broken you will pay a 50p fine. The more rules you break, the higher your fine! Choose from the following:

· Wear a hoodie over your uniform

· Wear trainers instead of shoes (not expensive!)

· Wear brightly coloured socks or tights

· Wear a temporary tattoo (arms only)

· Wear nail polish

· Have a crazy hair style

· Wear a football top instead of your school polo shirt

· Wear a hat in class

· Bring a healthy snack for morning break (no nuts)

· Add cordial to your water bottle (no fizzy drinks)

You will be required to pay your fine when you arrive at school on Friday 13th February. Please place your fine in an envelope and hand it in to your teacher. All monies raised will help to buy much needed equipment for the school.
